26 jewelers, compiled from public sources. Many jewelers offer appraisal services in house or through an appraiser they work with, so call ahead to ask.
Scan your piece with GemstoneAI first. You get an identification, treatment and authenticity signals, and a market value estimate, so the conversation with a appraiser starts from something rather than nothing. Free to try.
Fees vary by appraiser and by piece, and are usually charged hourly or per item rather than as a percentage of value. Ask for the fee basis in writing before you hand anything over. A percentage-of-value fee is a reason to ask more questions.
What should I bring to a jewelry appraisal?
Bring the piece, any paperwork you already have (a lab report, a receipt, an old appraisal), and photographs of it in good light. Knowing roughly what the piece is before you arrive makes the conversation shorter and cheaper.
Can a phone app replace a professional appraisal?
No. GemstoneAI identifies a stone from a photo and estimates market value, which is a good starting point and a way to know what questions to ask. It is not a certified appraisal, and for insurance, probate or resale of a significant piece you want a credentialed professional.
