• Content you choose to publish to the Community Board, including the photographs, title and description of the piece you submit and any comments you write

When you access our application, we may automatically collect:

• Location data (with your consent, for regional pricing information)
• Camera data solely for gemstone and jewelry analysis purposes

How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide and maintain our gemstone and jewelry identification services
• Process your premium subscription and manage your account

• Send promotional communications (with your consent)

Image Data and AI Processing

Images you capture or upload for gemstone and jewelry analysis are processed by our AI systems. Important information about your image data:

• Images are encrypted during transmission and storage
• We retain images only as long as necessary to provide the service and improve our algorithms
• Images may be used anonymously to train and improve our AI models
• You may request deletion of your image data at any time
• We never sell your images, and we never share them with third parties for marketing purposes
• Images stay private to your account unless you choose to publish a piece to the Community Board, which is covered in the next section

Community Board and Public Content

The app includes a Community Board, a weekly board where you can share one of your own scanned pieces and other people can vote and comment on it. Taking part is entirely optional. Nothing you scan or save appears on the board unless you submit it yourself.

What becomes public when you submit a piece

The board is readable by anyone, including people who do not have a GemstoneAI account, so a submission is a decision to publish. When you submit a piece we publish:

• The photographs of that piece
• Its title and description, and the stone, setting and grading details the scan produced
• A single estimated value for that piece
• A byline showing your first name and last initial, or the word Anonymous if you choose to post anonymously

We do not publish your email address, your phone number, your full name, your location, or any other piece in your collection. Please remember that a photograph can show more than the piece itself, including your surroundings, so submit only images you are comfortable making public.

Comments, votes and moderation

Comments you write on the board are public and are published under the same byline. Comments pass an automated moderation check before they are stored, and anything that check cannot clear is rejected rather than published. Every piece and every comment posted by someone else can be reported, and you can block another user from any of their comments. We review reports and remove content that breaks our rules.

Taking content down

You can remove your own entry from the board at any time using "Take it off the board" on that entry, which also removes its votes and comments. The board itself resets weekly. Deleting your account removes your board entries and comments along with the rest of your data. Copies that other people made while the content was public, such as screenshots, are outside our control.

Premium Subscription Data

For premium subscribers, additional data practices apply:

• Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• We do not store your credit card or payment details
• We receive only confirmation of your subscription status
• Subscription history is retained for billing and support purposes

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

• Service providers who assist in operating our platform (cloud hosting, analytics)
• AI processing partners for gemstone and jewelry identification
• Analytics partners to improve our services
• Legal authorities when required by law
• Business partners with your explicit consent
• Anyone at all, for the content you choose to publish to the Community Board, which is public by design

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• Employee training on data protection

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

• Request deletion of your data and account
• Object to or restrict processing
• Data portability (export your collection data)
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Cancel your premium subscription

SMS Communications

If you provide your phone number to GemstoneAI, you consent to receive SMS messages related to account verification and login authentication. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on user activity. You may reply STOP to opt out and HELP for assistance. GemstoneAI does not use SMS for marketing under this program and does not sell or share phone numbers with third parties for marketing purposes.

Cookies and Tracking

Our mobile application may use:

• Analytics tools to understand app usage and improve features
• Crash reporting to identify and fix issues
• Performance monitoring to ensure app reliability

You can control tracking preferences through your device settings.

Children's Privacy
